Need some advice please. I bought 69 Dart recently. It was originally a /6 converted to a 360, and I was going to bump it up to a 440. It has some body and drivetrain issues which I knew about and accepted as part of the deal. Unfortunately when I was going in depth underneath I found major corrosion around the torsion bar mounts on the frame. Can this be fixed with donor parts? Is there an aftermarket repair kit of some sort available? I have never done this type of repair before. Is it even safe to do or even if repairable, what type of tradesman could/would do it?

If you want an original look, you could hunt down a donor crossmember. The other possibility is www.autorust.com who makes "caps" that weld over the crossmember and weld to the torsion bar socket.

I think I saw an a-body torsion bar cross member on e-bay last week, might still be there.
