Need Lots of Susp. Help
« on: January 12, 2006, 07:47:13 PM »

Ok currently I'm reading through this new swap I heard of through Mopar Muscle a FMJ spindle swap that works with these new tubular control arms from(www.firmfeel.com) and I'm wondering a couple things. If I wear to buy a stock brake setup off a 73-later B-body with like 10" or 11" calipers.
Would these work with the Torsion Bars?
Would These work With the Sway Bar?
Will these fit my 14x6" Ralley Wheels?
Would I be able to maybe even modify the stock Upper Control Arm to work with the A-Body?

Theres also an FMJ-body brake swap these being more common.
Would these work with Torsion Bars? With the sway Bar?

Welcome.  We all know the guy that wrote that article, same guy that runs this site, Bill.

Let's see:
T-bars, keep your current lower a-arms and go with whatever t-bar's you want.  Thin one's for drag racing, thick for road racing or something in the middle.  List your setup, motor, use etc and someone will point you in the right direction.

Sway bars depends on the type, if you go with a factory type, you need the little tabs on the lower a-arms the bar connects to.

The 73 and up unicast brake system will work with the 14" wheels, the big 11.75" brakes you need 15".

Upper a-arms, check out the RMS site up top of this page, it's Bill's.

The sway bar issue is solved by shortening the end links or swapping the spindles side-to-side if there is an issue.

Ok so what your saying is I can go with the stock FMJ etc. spindle with the stock lower control arm with different uppers and it'll work with like a stock sway bar?

Would my stock 68 GT slant 6 have a sway bar in it or how would I add one?

Yes, those will work with a stock sway and it's highly unlikely that your /6 GT came with one, but since it was an available option you'll have to look under the front of your car to be sure.

So if I were to add one how hard do you think it'd be to add?

Not that hard. You will have to add the sway bar tabs to the lower control arms. You can get the bolt on ones or weld on ones.

But doesn't it have to bolt to like the K member or something?

Yea, but all K frames have the opening and the mounting holes for the sway bars brackets.
