'65 B body brake question
« on: August 19, 2006, 02:42:44 PM »

Guys, am I right in assuming that '73 Dart disc brake spindles will bolt straight in to a '65 Belvedere that currently has drums? Will I need to change the lower ball joint as well or not?

The B body lower balljoints will fit them, in fact, the uppers will too.

If you still have the single reservoir master cylinder, it will work with the disc brake conversion, though I suggest swapping in the dual reservoir stuff, just for the added safety of it.

I would also suggest using the 11-3/4" caliper mounts, calipers, rotors and pads, from a '76-'81 R or B body, on the '73-up A body spindles. This will require using 15" wheels, though.

Mark.

it will fit. my disc set-up came from a 73 a-body and bolted right on to my 65 coronet.

Excellent! I'll be fitting the booster and master cylinder as well then...
