69 Dart drum to disc
« on: August 25, 2006, 11:02:24 AM »

I'm getting ready to do the swap with the disc setup I bought from Jim Lusk (thanks Jim). Where can I find a proportioning valve? Are they still available at parts stores? Also are the wheel bearings the same for disc and drum? It's a small bolt pattern set up. Upper and lower ball joints the same?

These are things I just want to be aware of for future reference. After I pull everything apart I am going to get the rest of the parts I need.

10 inch drums and both big and small bolt discs use the same bearings/seals. I just checked several sources and could not find a prop valve. I'll be out wrecking yard shopping tomorrow and I'll keep my eyes open.

The Wilwood unit is pn# 260-8419; that's the one I have. I believe the MP valve is made by Wilwood also (at least they used to be).

Fine Lines has a new brass combination valve that I plan to use for my disc brake conversion. It uses all the same tubing and fittins as the stock part. They were selling them for $70 at the Nats.
