69 Dart door alignment
« on: January 13, 2006, 11:14:40 PM »

When re-installing my passenger side door there were spacers on the lower 3 bolts. I put the spacers back where they were but the door is way outta wack. Now I noticed the plates that the bolts (screws) go into inside the jambs move around a bit. The jamb holes are square so the question is is this the problem? Hope this makes sense.... thank you

which way is it out front to back or sticking in or out from the fender. doors can be tricky they do have room on the hinges so you can move it around. usually its the lower fender bolts that have the shims to bring the fender out level with the door.how was the alignment before you removed the door? maby the last owner put the fender shims in the door hinge by mistake?

No pics...sorry. Before I took it off it was perfecrt. It changes every time i loosen the bolts. Too high at the jamb (the latch) sticks out at the bottom and too close to the hood on the other end. Thanks for the info....will keep playing with it. And yes the shims are on the bottom 3 bolts. thank you
