The driver's side torsion bar mount on my 1971 Duster is rusted through and needs to be replaced. The cheapest I've found for a replacement cap is $129. Does anyone have any suggestions?

No, I've got a friend that owns a welding shop - I might just see if he can't fabricate something.

I took a 3/16" plate, cut a hole in it to fit over the torsion bar socket, and trimmed it to fit the contours of the crossmember do both sides....The crossmember itself has to have some good metal left to do this obviously...Here's a pic... Ryan
