After a lot of thinking, planning and figuring...instead of mini tub'n the car with springs inside the frame rails...we are going to back half the car with ladder bars and coil overs... I know it doesnt need it but we are getting a free class on how its done. The only thing we have to pay for is the parts and that is it. Also for the price of a coupld of Currie axles and spool we are getting a Dana 60 that is 46" including the drums with Strange axles with 4.10 posi... Could turn that deal down..

Just stoking the fire on this again...anyone get pics of the ABC kit after the freeze thawed? I have a hair trigger I'm about to pull on the MP kit but dont want to cut the frame if need be.

Mine are moved inside the frame rails,it's a total of 7" in from the stock location,it was easy,I welded a 2X3 dropped crossmember(inexpensive)between the frame rails right in front of the rear end, also put a 2x3 piece in the back between the rails( had the trunk cut out for easier access)then set the springs in using the stock type hangers.had to make a new mounting location for the shocks too.keep in mind you will need a fuel cell, the tank will not fit. There is no noticable body roll with the springs moved inside the frame rails.I'll try to snap some pictures and post them if anyone is interested.-Gene.

Although not a profesional chassis builder job it works, the ass end is stiff as hell and has put out 1.60 60' with my old stock 440 motor.

uwee440, That's basically what I was thinking when I was reading this thread. Thank's for the pix of what you did, it looks good. Also I noticed you can lower or raise the front springs by 1" or so. got to say Great job you did.

No it luanched real good last time I took it to the track, straight as an arrow with drag radials.-1.7 60 fts.with a stock 440 motor (390 horse),it ran 12.4@105mph best so far.Now I made a mistake and had the chance to get for next to nothing a Ray Barton 528 stroker, entire drive train out of a 9.8 second car.I say a mistake cause I can't drive the car anymore it's way to fast to take on the street,It doesn't have a cage and with 700 HP the thing really needs a four link in it,I'm kinda tired of the never ending project thing going on.I,m gonna put my stock 440 drive trian back in it in a few weeks and either keep it or sell it-not sure anymore.

That looks good. Only thing I would suggest woud be a back brace on the housing. With the spring pad that far in, it increases the chance of the tube bending on a hard launch, more leverage from where the spring pad is now compared to before, to the wheel.I know this happens, it did to me.
