What's good for the goose....

Joan Ritts watched her husband on a regular basis tear up the asphalt in his 69 451 Dart.
Not much for being a spectator, it didnt take long before she needed one of these toys for herself.
They aquired another '69, and with 3.55 gears, the wheazy 273 managed a 15.00.
Of course, that's not fast enough to run to the local quick mart, much less race.
The car was slowly rebuilt with the idea of making a fast street car out of the lowly grocery getter. Rebuilt suspension, body and interior provide modern looks and handling, while being capable of handling the added power of a big block.
The 727 multiplies the added torque with the help of a TCI Super Street Fighter converter. 235/60 BFG Drag Radials are bolted to the 8.75 rear which now houses 4.30 gears.
The most recent upgrades included new paint and a 'glass 6-pack hood from AAR. Inside, racing buckets, a B&M shifter, and Grant wheel keep things simple and controllable, while a custom dash monitors engine vitals with AutoMeter gauges.

Under the new hood resides a 383 that provides a touch more fun than the original 273.
The 383 features a stock rebuilt shortblock. The 906 heads now have 2.14/1.81 valves and are opened by a tried and true 284/484 MP cam.
A Performer RPM intake holds a Holley 750DP re-worked by A.E.D. Schumacher headers route the spent fumes through 2-chamber Flowmaster mufflers and a Griffin aluminum radiator keeps it all cool.

To date, Joans best time with the car has been a 12.62@107.
This is the first car Joan has ever raced, yet last year she grabbed the runner-up spot at her local 1/8th mile
and made it to the Semi's at last years Mopars At The Rock in the street class.
At this rate, it won't be too much longer before Joan's trophy case is bigger than Bill's :)
