He decided right away it should be a bigblock, and while he was at it, converted to a 4-speed. It remained this way for 11 years until last spring when a few changes were made and he went back to a good ole 727. |

The driveshaft you see is aluminum, and at the other end of it resides our good friend, the 727. It contains an A&A reverse/manual valve body, and a 9.5" Dynamic converter. Front suspension mods include disk brakes and Magnum A-arms. |

And, the moment you've all been waiting for...The monster within.
The Hughes-built
'69 440 was bored .040, and the factory crank was lightened. Stock rods
are used along with Ross lightweight forged pistons and ARP bolts all-'round.
An MP 557/296 solid cam works the valves in ported '62 Max-Wedge heads
and Isky rockers were used for durability.

To lighten things up a bit, Mike removed the inner fenders and added the nice aluminum panels, and the hood, fenders, decklid and bumpers are now made of 'glass. All this brings the weight down to a respectable 2900lbs. I'm sure you're all wondering
about E.T.'s....well keep wondering because this beast is street only!
