Too nice to finish

This 68 Dart was equipped with a 273 until Mike Mraz got his hands on it.
The car is Mike's daily driver but still pulled off a 12.80@108mph.

Under the trunk, you'll find widened stock wells and custom leaf springs moved inboard. CE shocks keep the 8.75 rear under control, which was narrowed to 52.5", and the stock Sure-Grip unit holds 3.23 gears.
The trans tunnel hides a 23-spline 4-speed which has the 2.66 low-gear.
A Mcleod clutch, Billet flywheel, and Lakewood bell hold together
under the RB's torque. Brakes were upgraded to 11.75 front disks and 11" rear drums, with a late model Alum. master cylinder. The front suspension is now 73-76 with spool mounts and a sway bar.

The interior is basically stock save for a gauge or two.
Notice this is a factory A/C car....maybe one of these days Mike will hook up the system and we can all see where a compressor could fit.

Under the hood, the first thing you'll notice is the paint. Mike redid the engine compartment when the engine was out, but
then the car still looked pretty nice so he didnt have the heart to sand it off :)
Mike says he'll get to the outside when the red starts getting shabby.
The stock bore 440 is a '70 vintage that was freshened. It has ARP rod bolts, moly rings, 1/2" oil pickup, and ported 906 heads, A Hughes cam specs out a .504/.515 lift with 223/230 dur.@.050". An M-1 intake holds a modified Thermoquad. The exhaust consists of B-Body HP manifolds with 2.5" Mandrel bent tubing to a set of Dynomax mufflers.

Here's a nice clean car, no clearance troubles, no heat problems, and totally streetable, yet it still
runs a low 12 and has that loads o' fun 4-speed.
I think by realistic standards, this could be considered the perfect street car...I bet it even gets decent gas mileage :)
