Low Deck Screamer

Kelly Musick has found the right combination with his '72 Dart.
Performance to date is a traction limited 11.01 @122MPH through the mufflers.
There's nothin' quite like a dash-full of gauges is there? Between Kelly and myself, we probably raised the stock price of Autometer a buck or two:)
Kelly started with Schumacher mounts, and then built himself a 451 low-deck to make sure he'd have enough "Go" to make that paint job proud.
Indy SR heads and intake work with 2" CPPA's to move this car in a hurry.
One note here...its common knowledge that all the aluminum bigblock heads have raised exhaust ports which, in an A-body, make headers a nightmare. However, when bolted on a low-deck, the ports are in a similar location as RB's, making headers a bolt-on job.
As you can see, a Milodon deep pan works just fine in these cars. 4.10's spin the axles, the stock wells were moved in to the frame and the springs were relocated as well. The stock trunk floor was removed to make room for exhaust, which by the way is 3.5" with, count 'em, 4 flowmaster 70 series mufflers. Kelly explained that the 30 series were way too loud for the street, but the current arrangement works great(remember the 11.01et) and is plenty quiet around town.
Kelly has done a fine job with this car, and its not easy to have an 11-flat street car without nitrous. I will undoubtedly use a few of his tricks on my own ride when the time comes. Then again, that's what BigBlockDart.Com is all about - learning, making friends, and going FAST.
