Hydraulic Clutch Bracket
For those of you
sick of messing with clutch linkage and various exhaust systems, there
ARE ways to improve the situation.
Check out how one fellow
solved the problem.... |
| Above, you can see
the completed slave cylinder bracket and the finished product. The bracket started out
as a big block alternator bracket. The slave cylinder used
is from a 65-71 Dodge truck. The end of the clutch
fork was replaced with that from the same truck, but its just as easy to
use the standard rod and cut off the eye. |
| A hole was drilled
and tapped into the side of the bellhousing for the top mounting point
of the slave, and the lower starter hole was used as to mount the new bracket. A small notch was required
in the flange for clearance. |
| Here you can see
how the welded tab on the bracket fits on the starter stud, and the spring
mount at both ends. Also, the end hole on
the alt. bracket needs to be tapped to accept the slave. |
|
This pic shows the
starter to bolt clearance inside the bell.
Plenty of room with the
right length bolt.
|
| As you can see, a
little creativity goes a long way in solving many of the smaller problems
with big motor/small car combos. This page is intended
to perhaps spark a bit of that creativity and let you see your spare parts
in a whole new light. It also reminds us of
the first cardinal rule of hot rodding....NEVER throw anything away:) |
