Do you have a fast ramp rate cam?
I believe that oil mod works best with shaft bushed roller tipped rockers. If you have needle bearing rollers you will need a high volume pump and will need to make sure your drainback passages are...
That's awesome! Can't wait to get my bullet slammed in.
I measured 130cc, down 1/2" in the bore measured from the highest point (???) on the piston (quench block).
The actual volume of my 4.35"x 0.5" is 121.77cc
So I am coming up with an effective...
Thanks for that link.
I just can't do the Ferd thing. I know the 9" is more efficient than a Dana 60 due to the pinion position, but I would hate the fact that it was there.
Not only that, Herb...
I AM the complete idiot in this case.
I have a 1969 Dart GT that I am finishing up a 440 (.509" 292) for with a 4-speed, so I will need the strength of the Dana.
Will be pulling one out of the...
So, I was wondering if you did any more work on the Super Stealth porting project?
These heads look like they should really flow big numbers if ported properly (whatever that means!).
I love the...
It's a '67 A833, 23 spline. Don't have a clutch or a flywheel yet. Was going to hold off until I find a bell.
Have the Dart, have the 440, have the A833, need a bell housing.
I don't care about originality, just need a bell. I can't find interchange info on this.
Anyone have experience in this area?
So, I have the pedals here and an A833 coming. Converting my console automatic to manual and can't find even a repop of that weird shaped shift lever.
Anyone know of a source?
A machinist told me today that 1.88" exhaust valves are too large for a 440 and will scrub the cylinder wall. I'm pretty sure the MAX Wedge head had 1.88" valves on a smaller bore than the 440 (413...
Has anyone tried this k-member?
For me streetable is more about a combo that won't eat itself on the street and will idle down to 800 or so. I love a raggedy, nasty idle, but need to be able to let out the clutch without burning...
Ok, help me out here.
Assume everything is optimized with a 1969 440 powered Dart:
optimum ported iron heads, 213 style
10.5:1 c/r KB quench block pistons
I just gotta! Luv me some big block thump!
My wife talked me out of sticking the 360 in the Dart temporarily and to just get the body prepped and pained while the powertrain is out. The spend the money on the 440, since I really find small...
Got the 273 and 904 out. Now the cleaning starts.
This is me doing a wheels-up launch in the Dart! Notice the wrinkle-walls giving their all!
Just kidding. Getting ready to yank the 273.
Or run a ThermoQuad!
Sad to see HEMI's being built with low compression. Without the squish and quench of at least 12:1 HEMI's make wedge numbers of the same displacement.
Take that 528 and put some 12.5:1 slugs in...
I broke two trac-loks and a powr-lok in my Dana 70 and then replaced it with a Detroit Locker and it has been solid as a rock. 700lb/ft or more (with a stick) has a negative affect on rear diffs!...
Air in the gauge supply line will do that if it is a mechanical gauge. You can bleed the air out if you are careful.
If the lifters are rattling for a while on cold start then maybe you are...
Sorry, put the "R" in their out of habit.
So, my bias ply P195 75R14's are rotted out.
What is the max size tire I can fit on stock 1969 Dart rims?
Sorry for the misinformation.
Here is what KB Says:
If you are building an engine with steel rods, tight bearings and pistons, modest RPM and automatic transmission, a .035" quench is the...
