I went to the Don Garlits Drag Racing Museum

My buddy and I were mountain biking in the Ocala National Forest. It started POURING, so we went to the Don Garlits Museum. I've always wanted to go and I'm glad I did.
It's awesome to see the evolution of the cars through the years, I saw MANY cars that I remember from my childhood. I loved the failed attempts as well. The engine room is awesome.
If you're ever passing through Ocala, it's definitely on the must see list. Oh, and be warned... The souviniers are expensive. But you're still gonna buy em.

YEP! been there also. It is amazing the amount of cars that are in there and it does take some time to go through it all. For sure worth it!

Been there several times myself......great collection of drag racing history in there. It will take you several hours to really see it all.
Hey, does that have a 440 in it?

While there really are no hills to speak of, the terrain is very challenging. The scenery is also very different compared to what I usually ride, so it's worth it for sure.

I plan on going back with my son. My buddy and I got a huge laugh looking at one of his earliest cars which was little more than an engine, a seat and two rails. There was a picture of Don G going 130 mph with no shirt or helmet... Only goggles. That's when men were men.

    I have been there too.
    Very cool place.
I was living just outside of Ocala.
If I remember correctly it is a 1/4 mile from his driveway
    to the intersection. (kinda kool)

The museum is about an hour from where i live and have been there a few times. My favorite car there is a white 66 Coronet 4 door Hemi car. It was originally an FBI car, plain-jane to the gills................except for the Hemi! :P
