Just wondering hom much beating and banging is required to fit a 727 tranny into an early A dart(1963). Turns out the police package diplomat I was gonna pick up as a donor fell through but I do have a 360 magnum that's good to go. I'm told that finding the right flex plate to put a 904 behind the magnum is pretty scarce but not for the 727. So it's looking like a 727. Any thoughts?
BFH on the pinch seam and a little peening where the sector shaft linkage goes. if you put 3/4 nuts as spacers between the K and the subframe ala early hemi's you get another inch clearance with no other perceived issues.
Same 360 727 in my 64 beat the seam in pretty flat and slid in no problem
