What would you use, if you had to install disk brakes on a 1970 E body: slider type calipers or pin type. any advantage over the other?

A lot of people say that the pin type can get slopy. The slider type is what a lot of people use when converting to disc brakes.

E bodies had pin type as stock.
Depending on what you do as to what style you want.
Pin types leave no doubt that it's realeasing the caliper, but they sometimes bend the pins and bind, or, as mentioned, get sloppy and rattle.
On the other side, the slider type can get rusty and bind causing a nagging drag problem, but they seldom ever rattle and tend to be simpler to service.

Either one works well in good condition.

Mark.
