Hey guyz,
Just ordered a rebuilt 742 for my 73 Charger. For some reason he had a 741 on the rear. Will the 741 and 742 bolt up to the same drive shaft? Or were they made different?

they are the same size. you should have no problem as long as your yokes are the same size.

yup, if the same yoke it'll work, basically all of the cases have the same outside dementions

But were the stock yokes the same on each one?

The joint end should be the same but the pinion end will have different splines for the 41, 42 and 89.

FYI: When I ordered my 489 for the RR from Randy's it didn't come with a yoke so when your's shows up you may have the same deal. I called and said what's the deal. They said I didn't request one. Randy's and they said it was an extra $90. They are a good shop and the transaction was good. Just something to think about.
