what are you cleaning off them?

anyways the best way is to depress each little catch, yoink out the connector and clean scrape dip ect the connectors ,then before replacing them give the females a little squeeze so they are tight again replacing them as you go one by one. i do it this way when they have been painted over or if there is corrosion.

when i say connectors i mean the little male and female brass blades inside the plastic bulkhead disconnect.

but if it is to remove dirt/dust just blow it out with compressed air then get a light and take a good look for corrosion and signs of overheat and give the troubled ones the royal treatment stated above.

nothing like wiring gremlins >:D
