If you really wanna get intimate with it,use an air brush. But naturally when you paint it want to blow down between the slots.Wether it's enough or not is one of those things you don't know until you do it.It helps if your spraying base/clear.You can get a couple extra coats oof base on the cowl area and not worry about sags or excessive build up.When you start painting throw a coat on the cowl area first(let it flash)then throw another coat on it again(let that one flash)then proceed to paint the car.Just make sure you have ample coverage on the adjacent panels and you get a good "blend"so there is no color variation. If your using a one step paint your kind of at the mercy of the paint. It's going to be a bit harder to do the multi layer thing with one step.Depends how good you are with the gun.Alot of it's more of a "feel" than a textbook thing.Hope this helps and good luck!
