I currently have a 87 dakota that I have plan on putting a big block in and it has the straight three speed auto tranny mount which is the right one for the big block. Now I am going to be looking at a mint 92 without engine and tranny that had the auto with OD and I was wondering if anyone knew if its just the mount that is different or the whole crossmember? if its the crossmember could I use my old one from the 87??

You might be able to build a bracket and adapt it, but I think the mounts are in defferent locations with O/D versus the non O/D trans.

While I'm not positive, I believe the Durango is based on the Dakota. I just swapped a 360 into my Durango and the crossmember and mounts are nothing like the old car mounts. However, it is still a through bolt design so it is possible that it could be made to work. I am new to the truck scene so take this with a grain of salt.
