may seem hokey but you could add washers between the washer next to the rubber and the shoulder. that would make up the 3/8
early A vs late A LCA struts

I'm thnking about using the later A LCA struts from a later A (73) on an early A (64) K frame. I compared the two side by side...and the LCA stut shoulders seem to be ~ 3/8" closer on the later As (another words, the late is shorter. Now my early A rubbers are dead and shredded...but the late A rubbers are fully fine and intact.
When I install the late A struts with the late rubbers, it seems to fit perfectly. Does the difference in the length get accounted for with a different rubber design?? Like I said, the early A rubbers are gone, so measureing them is not possible. anyone have any insight??
