I dont have a spool handy, so I was hoping one of you guys could help me out. What is the length of spline in a spool for an 8 3/4? By looking at one of the 3rd members I have laying around a regular open diff only has about 1 1/2". I'm just curious if a spool has more surface to spline.

Okay, the reason I ask is I just recieved my Moser axles (custom length). The driver's side is about 1/8" too long. Since there is about 3" of spline, I'm thinking I can just grind 1/8" off and bevel the edge and dress the splines. I just didn't want to run into not having enough spline down the road if I ever want to run a spool.
