I took my lexan windshield, which was scarred and messed up, and had a plastics supplier cut another one using the old one as a pattern....$68 out the door for 1/8th inch.

Oh...and mine was installed in the original windshield gasket...not a 'race car' type kit with screws, etc. Might have misunderstood what you meant.

My glass is cracked and won't pass tech. I thought if I could make a plastic one work I'd save some weight too. I ve not seen lexan with a windshield gasket and no screws. Sounds like it would work. I need to read up on wind shields. Is this style of application leagle??

the book says it may be replaced by shatterproof material .125" minimum thickness.

the stuff scratches very easy, well the cheap stuff does, they make some type that is warranted for 5 years against scratches but it was 1200 bones for a sheet 5 years ago, probably cheaper now.

why do people have to rub it with thier grimey fingers once you tell them it is Lexan?

thieves are somewhat baffled by it too.
