got to ask for insight on this. 67' Barracuda. 512 stroker 440 RB. 600+hp. poseable 250 shot of NO2. 727 3500 stall. SS springs W/caltracs. Tubbing for 12.5"x24.5". moving springs I/B. Read that's the tire limit.
Pulled the 8 3/4". said 3.73. has 3.23 w/ posi. So i figured a Dana 60 would cost me the same to build. got to shorten either anyway. do that myself, have tools/jig. so i get one. $100. told 3.73. is 4.10. guy has a 3.73 and will swap.
Question, keep the 4.10's or get the 3.73's. 8 3/4" or Dana 60 and what gears ?will be driving this on the streets mostly. some track. think i can live with 3.73 but not 4.10's(4300 rpm at 75 mph). have you been here ? Thanks

I played around with gears with my 500 stroker (550 HP 610 TQ) 3.91's were too much, 3.23's were not enough, ended up with 3.55's and they are perfect. I only rev the engine to 5500 and at the top end at the track I am between 5000-5500. I think 3.54 is the lowest gear available for the dana.

thanks qkcuda. Nice cuda. I have RPM heads W/port matched M-1. a Quick fuel RQ850 and roller cam close to yours, from Hughes. be really close to your build, read most of your thread yesterday. Guess i'll get the 3.73's then see if i can get another with 3,55's. any idea what model truck and year Dana 60's with 3.55-3.54's come in ?

Can't help you with the 3.54's my guess is a 2500 pick up truck is your best bet. I'm not sure the difference between 3.55's and 3.73's would be worth the change. If you have the 3.73's just run them and see how you like them.
