I am going to weld in a new crossmember for the shocks( spring moved into frame}, and was wondering about the angle of the shock. My question is can you mount the top mount ,so the shock is more straight up and down . Mainly to gain more room for exhaust! And second question is how high to make the mount, I know when you take a shock off a normal car with leaf springs the rear will drop down a little, once the shock is removed. Thanks Kevin

Actually vertical is better - the straighter it is, the more shock travel will be used versus wheel travel, so the shock moves faster - the higher the shaft speed, the better shocks work like they're supposed to.
