This is probably a stupid question. Can I use the stock shock mount plates when I put my 8 3/4 in? Originally had a 7 1/4. If not, what do I need to look for at the junk yard. Thanks.
Pretty much anything car-ish that has a 8 1/4, 8 3/4, or 9 1/4" rear end will have the plates you need. I need to procure aset for my truck so i can flip the axle on top of the spring to lower it some.
i just went through this today. finally ended up welding the holes on the old (7 1/4) plates and redrilling them. moved the holes 1/4" out and everything is good. i can take pics if you need.
