When installing a V-8 centerlink to replace a/6 one, do you have to change the pitman arm as well? I installed a V-8 centerlink in my 66 and now the drivers side inner tie rod rubs the torsion bar. Is this common? Would like to find a fix before I put the /6 centerlink back in.

the V-8 centerlink had more drop bend to it, but it seemed like it might have been a little longer. I bought it on ebay, it was supposed to be the link for 66-72 V-8 cars. Might be the wrong one?

Okay, I guess will pull it back out and keep searching for a 66 center link(good luck). If I am putting a 360 in the car with a stock center sump pan, do I really need it? **(*)

From what I gathered from the Slant 6 siite is: 64 has nearly straight across S6 centerlinks and a 1" drop centerlink for the 273 v8s. some 65's used up the rest of the straight links...but by mid year....all (V8 and S6) got the same 1" drop bar. Your 66 should have the correct bar in it, unless it was changed out before.
