What is the reccomended way to do a burnout with an automatic valve body 727?

Also, dont forget to ease out of the burnout to reduce shock to the sprag. You dont want to just yank your foot off the gas and let the tires hook.

Grudd do you have a manual automatic or just an automatic. If it is a manual auto 68_Val_Sedan and Blvedere are both correct. []{} []{} .If it is a automatic you can pick any gear you like.JEDS67

.........................With a fully auto v/b u will want to start out in manual 1st, shifter in 1st ,and keep it in 1st, so u keep the rear band applied, if u allow it to shift to 2nd all will b fine till the tires grab and it down shifts to 1st with no 1st band apply it can and will tear/rip out the sprag....Its like anything else, u can only get away with playing the odds so many times till it catches up with u, which them u will have an explosion............kim........

I've been told to ONLY do a 2nd gear burnout, not that doing a 1-2 shift isn't bad, but it can cause the rear sprag to come out and then the drum lets go.

Auto shifting... no idea..... Power brake?

This is what happens whent he front drum explodes:

The last one is a picture of my floor where the tunnle hump was welded with the firewall. It split the weld from the drive side to the passenger side and put quite a bit of a "bump" where my foot was. Noy sure if you'd want this to happen.

Cause by a 727 reverse manual valve body. Just my knowlege (which isnt much lol)

The fully auto VB needs to start in Manual low. It then uses the band to hold the low reverse drum,
not just the sprag. If the sprag fails it lets the forward drum spin at over 2 times the engine speed.
This can cause the exploded drum and case you see in the pics.

Manual VBs can be started in 2nd and avoid 1st during burnouts.
