Well, I was just about to order a brand new power loc carrier from broncograveyard.com per the recommendation of member acpat on here (thanks!) and when I called i was told that the 35 spline powerloc for 4.10 ratio and down has been on national backorder for a year and a half since spicer isnt making themdoh

anyways, they apparently have this one in stock for 4.56 and up
http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-11756A-d60-35spl-power-loc-complete-4-56up.html
What would i need to run the factory dana 4.10 gears on this carrier for 4.56's?

any help would be great! its either this or im going spool, and thats something i really dont want to do
thanks guys!

Hey Dave,

Happy New Year! the company doesnt seem to know too much themselves, so i figured id ask you guys. I know you need a spacer for the carrier but not sure if its for using 4.56 and up on a 4.10 carrier or in my case 4.10's on a 4.56 up carrier...My gears are stock dana gears as well, so not sure if that makes any differencedoh

Lovely! this is just what i was not hoping for

Does anybody know where I can find a complete power lock for a 4.10 gearset brand new and not pay out the arse?

is there a way to tell from looking at two power lok carriers which is for 4.10's and which is for 4.56 and up? different thickness of ring gear mounting flange or something? different stampings? how would i tell

thanks guys!

Ring gear mounting flange is thicker on 4.56. It can be turned down but really not worth it. I just shipped two 4.10 30 spline carriers to rustyramcharger for 220.00 shipped that were both used but in good shape with nice internals. let me look tonight on the web and see what I can find for gears/power loks etc.

I can not find crap but................ try this guy

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/78-7...tem51971ff769QQitemZ350427805545QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

I would email him and see what he has in 35 spline 60 power lok carriers. He only deals in 60's

If you decide to go with the new 4.56 carrier I have a 10 spline 4.56 gear set that is nice for 50.00 plus the ride. It has a 1310 yoke but mancini sells a forged yoke for 84.00 in 1350 10 spline

why are you wanting a new one just curious. I have bought a boxcar full of them for 100.00 and never found one that a 175.00 rebuild kit won't make like new. By their design they dont wear out the case. now the steel clutches are another story lol. I am just saying that you should be able to get a complete rebuilt one for around 300.00 ?

Well there is a member here who is offerring me his power lock 4.10 carrier for a very good price (real generous guy!) to see if it works for me. Even if its not 35 spline, I can just change the side gears and I should be fine. He's going to get some pictures for me, and hopefully it all works out

If not ill check out that link on ebay. The only reason id like to stay new if i can is because by the time i find a power lock and then have to rebuild it or get new side gears (if it needs it) then I am close to the price of a brand new powerlok on bronco graveyard.com....but i guess if the 4.10 carrier is on "national backorder" a rebuilt unit will have to do-0*(

remember that the clutch cones may also need replaced if it is 30 spline as they do not have removable side gears. not a big deal just order the whole 35 spline rebuild kit from bronco graveyard and put it in. It is cheaper and comes with
1. 2 35 spline side gears
2. 1 cross shaft and 4 small gears
3. 2 clutch hubs
4. full set fiber clutches
5. instructions
6 friction modifier
