Does anyone have a link to any muffler flow tests ??? Jack

no , but i can tell you this..

my car has 3" pipe with Summit glasspacks to the rear tires. The car runs the same Et with or without the exhaust.

my old 74 cuda / 440 ran the same with or without the exhaust on it too . Summit "turbo" style mufflers.

Mine sounded a little better after a few miles--they dont sound anything like a Flowmaster OVAL style or Turbo muffler. They have less low end frequencies to them---at least with my car -- 493 ci / moderate compression / hooker fenderwells ,

but when i step on it---------HUGE ROAR --totally obnoxious -- LOUD as F @!# K .

Thats a good thing for me.

I was leaning towards Dynamax UltraFlow But my muffler guy was telling me they are a copy of the MagnaFlow and are more readily available, and stainless to boot and cheaper as well. UltraFlow was $121 and the MagnaFlow is $75.  I like the idea of a light weight muffler. But I always thought round glasspacks had a distinct rappy sound. It would be nice if there was a Good sound track of various mufflers on the same engine to compare.    *POP*

Go buy a copy of Jim Hand's book on Max Performance Pontiac Engines.  He has the best exhaust information in that book that you'll ever find.  You should be able to buy that book from Amazon.com, it is well worth the $20.

Jack go search on youtube for mopar magnaflow comparison
and you'll find my video, I just put magaflows on, compared to the flowtech afterburner I had, they have less interior resonance, are quiter at idle, and deeper. I really like them.

Here is a test done about 4 years ago on a 11 sec Mustang. I have also seen another test done but lost the
documentation on it. Both test did agree on two different brand engines. Hope this helps.

I run the Dyno-Max Ultra-Flow's and I like them. My car is not as loud as my son's Dart with his Flow Master's and they are a straight thru muffler so I figured they wont slow me down much. I also run a H-pipe with mine. Ron

ajm780  That's some interesting stuff there !!!  Interesting how close they all are to one another. It would be very hard to compare on the track with changing air temps and what not. Maybe it's done on a computer program  #^~!   Ucdcrush, Maybe it's just me but I could hardly tell the difference between the two. I just spent the last few hours watching muffler clips on utube and I don't think I am any farther ahead than when I started. Some cars were running no mufflers, just straight pipe out the rear and it sounds better than alot of the mufflers. Some of the mufflers seem to give off some strange tones at different rpm. I have Headman headers, and Headman X pipe and 2 1/2" Flowmaster pipes out the back. I am thinking maybe I'll just go with the old DynaMax 15" Turbo muffler. Sort of " Old School " Muffler choice almost come's down to a Crap shoot   #^~!  Anyone ever try running a universal catalytic converter instead of a muffler ???

Ive had mine for a couple years. (MagnaFlo's)
Very smooth at idle, Makes 500in. and a roller cam sound like a 509 cammed, 383.
Course the E85 quiets it down too. At least at idle. ;D
