Something for the tree huggers to think about.........

For all of you out there in North America and across the globe who have fought so hard to tackle the hideous enemy of our planet, namely carbon emissions, that bogus god you worship named "Climate Change" or "Global Warming", there is some really bad news that will be very painful for you to process. But it is my duty to pass it on to you anyway.

Are you sitting down?

Okay, here's the bombshell. The current volcanic eruption going on in Iceland, since it first started spewing volcanic ash a week ago, has, to this point, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet. Not only that, this single act of God has added emissions to the earth estimated to be 42 times more than can be corrected by the extreme human regulations proposed for annual reductions.

I know, I know.... (have a group hug)...it's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up til midnight to finish your kid's "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, going on vacation to a city park instead of Yosemite, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your $1 light bulbs with $10 light bulbs ...well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just the past week.

The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere in the past week has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And, those hundreds of thousands of American jobs you helped move to Asia with expensive emissions demands on businesses... you know, the ones that are creating even more emissions than when they were creating American jobs, well that must seem really worthwhile now.

I'm so sorry. And I do wish that there was some kind of a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud but the fact of the matter is that the brush fire season across the western U.S.A. will start in about two months and those fires will negate your efforts to reduce carbon emissions in our world for the next two years.

So, grab a Coke, give the world a hug, and have a nice day!

i have no problems with changes in weather ect from the ash.

the problem is with the co2 emission from the volcanoe.

being a non graduate i figured that if the Earth warmed more water vapour would form clouds, the clouds would reflect the light reducing temperature,a self regulating type thing.

there is the problem with the hype on humans causing the changes and the group of monkeys
just blurping out "facts".

it is just as valid for me to say humans caused it from pissing off God by allowing Sunday shopping, the difference is i am not ramming it down anyones throat.

Here, check this out. It explains that CO2 is the Second Greatest gas quotient in a volcanic erruption, after Water Vapor..

The most abundant gas typically released into the atmosphere from volcanic systems is water vapor (H20), followed by carbon dioxide (C02) and sulfur dioxide (S02). Volcanoes also release smaller amounts of others gases, including hydrogen sulfide (H2S), hydrogen (H2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen chloride (HCL), hydrogen fluoride (HF), and helium (He).

Here's a CnP of what someone else said on another forum where I posted the same thing the OP here did. It pretty much sums up my attitude on things:

this is not about saving the earth this is about making money off of everyone. Introducing the Global Warming Fraud, the insatiable Cap and Trade Fraud, and my personal favorite the global CO2 Tax. Lets give them a warm welcome and round of applause for being some of the biggest lies we have ever seen! Open up those checkbooks and give your tidings to the Govt!? WTF the Govt gets the money?! Hmmm oh well we all ready gave them student loans, Auto industry, Banks, Ins companies whats another few things right? I cant wait until they come out with the regulation that tells me whether it's ok to crap before or after my morning coffee.

So pay your taxes to your false prophets in hope that THEY can save us from our evil polluting selves, when in reality if these things go through you are only lining their pockets and doing nothing to stop pollution. Onward to the new religion of Gaia worship for when your pockets are empty you will need her more than ever.

Hey Obamas own guy said we could shut down all industry stop all the cars and still not make what they want for Carbon Emissions.Just follow the $$$$$ trail sometimes. Its GE SEIU Gore and some other hi buck players that are in the Carbon Exchange. Its already been proven Al will be a billionaire and GE will make tens of billions from it.Look now the UN also want to tax the internet.Another useless entity that wants more money.Rocky

I do not know where that information came from, so it would be unwise to comment on it. HOWEVER....I can add that SINGLE eruptions have altered weather pattern for YEARS on this planet, causing widespread famine due to crop failures, an inestimable number of deaths and a host of other problems.

Yet, even IF you believe what our pristine, trustworthy and beloved government is telling all of us about so-called "climate change", you MUST reject what we KNOW (not what we speculate) about ALL of the deadly consequences of catastrophic eruptions in favor of what some official is telling you. Any person with half of a working brain would not be prepared or willing to do this. Volcanoes can do in a day what some believe it would take mankind HUNDREDS OF YEARS to do. I submit to you, sir, that the evidence is before you. Keep in mind that in Newsweek magazine, during the 1970's, it was suggested that we should cover the polar ice caps with soot so the earth can trap heat and global temperatures can INCREASE (apparently, some thought it was too cold then!). Here is a link to the text from 1975: http://denisdutton.com/cooling_world.htm
Were they wrong then, or are they wrong now? They can't have it both ways. During the 70's, by the way, this was a much dirtier world; the EPA was only just installed during the Nixon administration.

I cannot believe that we are responsible the bulk of any temperature increase on this planet. Anyone who has studied Climatology at all, or made it their business to educate themselves on the subject (even to a rudimentary degree) is aware that the Earth was FAR HOTTER at MANY points in history than it is today. The Medieval warming period, as it's called, is a good example of this. No fossil fuel burning then, was there? Hell, outside of what the Romans had built centuries before, the weren't even many roads! What WAS happening was that the churning ball of gas known as the Sun was going through a very active period. Think about this....IT'S NEARLY 93 MILLION MILES AWAY.....AND IT CAN STILL BURN YOU TO A CRISP FROM THAT DISTANCE! Just because we were here while the warming was happening, does NOT mean we are responsible. In addition, according to most reasearchers at the UN and elsewhere, the planet's temperature stabilized after 1998 and has since fallen into slight decline. This has coincided with a decline in sunspot activity. Does anyone really believe this is mere coincidence?

As far as CO2 being a greenhouse gas, let's start with the obvious. The atmosphere on Mars is nearly entirely CO2....yet, if you go there, you'd freeze to death, even though there is nothing to shade the surface and deflect the sun's rays. HOWEVER....Mars is further away from the sun, and thus would be cooler, as well as less subject to the effects of other solar activity.

This should give anyone in opposition to this something to chew on for a while.

Yes. Let's have them all take care of Obama's Katrina. The next time there is a disaster near me, I'll follow his example, and the example of almost every politician who has something to lose by not pointing his/her finger away from themselves.....sit on my ass and watch it get worse, and not help along measures which were put in place before I got there. Sounds like a superb plan, but I have a better idea. Why don't we take the whole lot of them from Washington, send them afloat on the slick, and ignite it? That would solve so many issues here. Maybe then the Army Corps of Engineers and any other capable arm of our bloated, grotesquely obese government can move on its own without the fatty folds of nationwide bureaucracy getting in the way.

Oh, and by the way......the figures regarding emissions from volcanoes tend to be accurate. Emissions can be accurately estimated after measurements of particulate matter and vent gases are taken. This was my field of study for a while in college, but don't take MY word for it.....here is an excerpt from the USGS :

"Emissions of certain gases can also be measured in the plume discharging from a volcano. Scientists use optical spectrometers mounted on tripods, vehicles, airplanes, and satellites to measure volcanic gases in plumes. This equipment provides a measure of the total output of one or more gases and is valuable in measuring how much volcanic gas is released into the atmosphere and forecasting what its environmental impacts are likely to be."

Here's some interesting material about Krakatowa's eruption from 1883:

"On August 27, a series of four huge explosions almost entirely destroyed the island. The explosions were so violent that they were heard 3,500 km (2,200 mi) away in Perth, Western Australia and the island of Rodrigues near Mauritius, 4,800 km (3,000 mi) away. The pressure wave from the final explosion was recorded on barographs around the world, which continued to register it up to 5 days after the explosion. The recordings show that the shockwave from the final explosion reverberated around the globe 7 times in total. Ash was propelled to a height of 80 km (50 mi).

The combined effects of pyroclastic flows, volcanic ashes, and tsunamis had disastrous results in the region. The official death toll recorded by the Dutch authorities was 36,417, although some sources put the estimate at more than 120,000. There are numerous documented reports of groups of human skeletons floating across the Indian Ocean on rafts of volcanic pumice and washing up on the east coast of Africa, up to a year after the eruption.

Average global temperatures fell by as much as 1.2 degrees Celsius in the year following the eruption. Weather patterns continued to be chaotic for years and temperatures did not return to normal until 1888."

Nothing man-made has this kind of sheer brute force, or can possibly impact the climate to ANY such degree as this. Respect the environment, but DO NOT buy into what a bunch of pukes "on the take" are telling you.

..."Drill baby drill, with no regulations"...that's not my policy. It is definetly a mess...and I don't believe the ocean will fix itself...but then again we don't know too much about the ocean. I think Rush is an asshole anyway...I beleive this planet like any planet has a life expectancy...and there is nothing we can do to change that...when it's time for our rock to fall by the wayside...it will...Even if we add 200 years to man's existence it wouldn't be a milli-second towards the planets life. I'm certainly not advocating burning tires or dumping oil...but I like my gas guzl'n V8!...so I'm not much for hugg'n trees...Don't stop at just republicans...stuff all those douchebag politicians down there!!

...Do you think we're really killing this planet? I don't disagree with facts, but I do have a sense of questioning athourity...some "science" can be politically motivated with conflicting "facts"...it's sometimes hard to believe all of it...I don't find anything funny with it though#^~!

Not so sporadic.

Mt Etna has errupted over 60 times in the XXth century, and 5 times since 2000. Pinutaubo in the Phillipines was huge and has had a few after erruptions, and at this moment a large ash cloud from that Iceland Volcano is causing havoc in Europe. And there are more.

Here's an informative article on this subject:

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/stand...uk/standard/article-23824743-weather-patterns-affected-by-volcanic-eruptions.do

" Volcanic eruptions sending ash and gas into the atmosphere can have a massive effect on the weather.

In 1815 a huge eruption on the Indonesian island of Sumbawa caused freak weather conditions throughout the world.

Mount Tambora spewed out massive amounts of sulphur dioxide which combined with water vapour to form a sulphuric acid mist that reflected sunlight away from the earth.

That caused such a drop in temperatures that 1816 became known as "the year with no summer".

Crops failed due to low daytime temperatures, late frosts and abnormally high rainfall, provoking food riots, famine and disease."

What about Sulfur (Acid Rain) and other Airborne Solids..? Once in the atmosphere they affect the earth's temp which also affects plant life and the Krebs Cycle.

In FACT, Volcanic Erruptions since 1850 (Krakatoa) have produced more airborne pollutants and affected climate change more than all of Man Made influence combined in that same time period.

I use 1850 because that is a generally accepted date for the beginning of the Industrial Revolution = Man Made Pollution.

Bottom line: Don't fall for the Political Bullshyt that focuses on Anthropomorphic Climate Change...as was proven by the phony Global Warming proof E-Mails from East Anglia University, when "Scientists" cannot proudce true Data, they make shyt up and pass it off as valid.

Is there Climate Change..?

Absolutely.

Is it Man Made...?

Not to the degree that some politicians want us to believe that it is.

Not like it is today, Gore hadn't invented the internet yet so things were kinda slow to get around. On the third day he created global warming and then on the seventh he rested.
Environmentalist said it would take years to come back. With in two years they were seeing new vegetation and in five years animal life was coming back . I had tons of ash in my yard ,I put the sprinklers on none stop. Took about a month to wash through. Had the greenest lawn I've ever had for about five years, never had to fertilize .

Me too, especially if the high water line moves up to the edge of my property in West Virginia, I always wanted a beach front bungalo. Then I could go hunting and fishing all in the same day, Joe.

There used to be enough trees to convert all the C02 into oxygen until Al Gore built his house. lol

I'm no tree huggin liberal hippie but I do think we ought to at least try to do the right thing by our environment. What pisses me off is the 'grabbing at straws' mentality, all the silly shit they come up with and more than anything else, the hypocracy. Practice what you preach, people.
